Located on an elevated section on the
eastern shores of Lake Wanaka, this house responds to local sun
and weather patterns and the client’s desire to capitalise on
the surrounding views.
Externally, contrasting natural timber sits against curved
plastered masonry and locally sourced stonework. The steel
structure to the living space is exposed and unadorned. Curved
plywood ceilings interlock around the steel posts and polished
timber floors flow from the main living areas to the sleeping
wings. |
